I have been riding since I was 7 years old, and competing in NorCal shows since I was 8. My family owned and operated Bottomley Farm, a boarding and training facility that also held schooling shows.  I competed on the east coast through college, and after school I returned to California as a working student for Hope and Ned Glynn at Sonoma Valley Stables. Today, I ride with Matt and Lindsay Archer at Shady Lane Farm, and I compete in the amateur jumpers. I've seen the horse business from many angles: amateur, working professional, facility owner, horse show manager, and fan. I want to give back to the community that shaped me into the person I am today.

Professionally, I'm an open source software developer. I work with a large international community that collaborates online, as well as in-person, at conferences.  I'm the lead organizer for a conference in the bay area that draws 1500 people each year.  I was also one of the lead organizers for a tech conference at Moscone Center, that had over 3100 attendees. I'm hoping that my skills as an event organizer will useful on the board.

What would you like to contribute as a NorCal board member?
Since my background is in technology, I'd really like to help NorCal increase outreach by expanding their online presence. I also have a lot of experience in organizing events and hope to be able to lend a hand, and offer new ideas for some of the great events NorCal puts on every year.
How do you think NorCal can best fulfill the needs of its membership?
To meet the needs of it's membership, NorCal needs to continue to provide an environment where our riders can flourish. In order to keep Northern California completive we need to continue to have quality horse shows that draw national and international competitors. We also need to send our riders to shows outside of NorCal, endeavors like supporting the Spruce Meadows team are crucial to our success.

Thank you sponsors!
