How your points are tabulated

In all hunter, jumper and equitation classes points are tabulated as follows:

6 or more in a class: 7-5-4-3-2-1
5 in a class: 6-4-3-2-1
4 in a class: 5-3-2-1
3 in a class: 4-2-1
2 in a class: 3-1
Less than 2: No points

Medal Classes

In the NorCal medal classes points are awarded as follows:

If more than 20 complete the course 10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2
If 5 or more complete the course 7-5-4-3-2-1
If 4 complete the course 5-3-2-1
If 3 complete the course 4-2-1
If less than 3 finish No points

A total of 7 points are needed to qualify for each Medal. In order to be awarded the NorCal Junior, Senior, Pony, or 3ft. Medal you must WIN a class where 5 or more riders complete the course. (Accumulating 7 points by placing other than first does not qualify you for a medal.) Once you qualify, you are still eligible to compete in the medal classes for the remainder of the year, however only one Medal per division will be awarded to an individual during the year (you may win a Junior Medal at one show and a Pony Medal at another). Juniors may NOT compete in the Pony Medal and Junior Medal at the same show. The Junior and Senior Medals may be combined if there are insufficient entries in either class for the class to be held.
